Hello there!
I am Artha (though many know me as Pooja), the founder of IndieEssense. I want to share with you a story of why and how I started IndieEssense.
For over a decade, I lived a double life. By day, I navigated the high-stakes world of corporate strategy; by evening, I was a mother of two, embracing the beautiful, heavy responsibilities of domestic life. But in the quiet hours between those two worlds, a third reality was forming.
I didn’t walk away from my corporate career to find my dream—I built IndieEssense while I was still right in the middle of it.
The restlessness I felt wasn’t because I lacked a career, but because I felt a calling to create something that was truly mine. My routine became a marathon of late-night planning and pre-dawn emails. I used my corporate experience as the blueprint, meticulously strategizing a multi-brand enterprise while still meeting the demands of my professional and family life.
The road was fueled by a unique kind of pressure. I faced the skepticism of those who thought I was taking on too much, and I carried the silent guilt of balancing a growing business with the needs of my children. Yet, every time I connected with an artisan or shared a piece of indigenous heritage, that internal spark grew into a flame. I realized I wasn’t just building a company; I was reclaiming my independence.
Today, as the Founder and CEO of IndieEssense, I lead a visionary enterprise dedicated to sourcing and showcasing unique products from diverse cultures across the globe. My mission is to give artisans a global stage and to preserve the richness of indigenous traditions through sustainable, mission-driven commerce.
My journey is proof that you don't have to wait for the 'perfect time' to start. You can build your future while still living your present. I am Artha, and I am here to reshape the course of my destiny—and hopefully, inspire you to do the same.
Warm regards,
Artha
